WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH, founded in 1980 in Ilsfeld, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial shredders, briquetting presses, and compacting and dewatering equipment with over 40,000 machines installed worldwide and a workforce of over 320 employees delivering more than 1,200 machines annually. The shredder portfolio includes the WL 4 single-shaft shredder with 600 mm rotor length, the WLK 1500 all-rounder with 1,500 mm working width, the W5.14 and W5.18 single-shaft machines with 500 mm rotor diameter, and the W8.15 and W8.30 PowerLine series featuring high-torque drives for demanding waste streams such as pulper ropes and WEEE scrap. Materials processed span plastics, wood, paper, metal, biomass, and municipal solid waste. For volume reduction, the C 150 briquetting press produces 50 mm round briquettes from wood, paper, and biomass, while the TH 1500 uses die technology for high-throughput industrial briquetting. Following the 2018 acquisition of PUEHLER, WEIMA introduced the C.200 compacting and dewatering press, which drains and compresses sludge, filled packaging, labels, swarf, plastic rejects, and PET bottles into 200 mm briquettes. The company operates the WE.connect IoT monitoring platform and the Destroy Responsibly on-site shredding program, and is a member of German RETech Partnership, VDMA, Plastics Recyclers Europe, and bvse.
