Trident Actuators
About
Trident Actuators, based in Holmes, Pennsylvania, has manufactured fail-safe electro-hydraulic valve and gate actuators for over 60 years, serving the municipal water, wastewater, industrial, and marine sectors. Originally engineered to meet New York City's demanding wastewater infrastructure requirements, Trident products are now distributed across North America through a network of more than 20 manufacturer's representative firms. The company produces three enclosure series: the A-Series with a 12-gauge stainless steel domed enclosure and air-tight seal, the S-Series split enclosure for multi-piece installations, and the D-Series skid-mounted configuration with integrated power pack and control panel. Four core actuator models address different applications: the 3500 Linear Fail-Safe, 2500 Rotary Fail-Safe, 2000 Rotary Fail Set, and 3000 Linear Fail Set. Each unit combines hydraulic power with electronic controls in a single compact housing, incorporating directional valves, manual hand pump, oil reservoir, hydraulic cylinder, and a patented hydraulic manifold with accumulator. Operating options include linear cylinder, rotary rack-and-pinion, and rotary helical configurations with fail-safe, fail-in-place, or fail-on-command modes. Control options range from relay logic to PLC with touchscreen and digital communication. Trident's submergible option carries IP68 certification rated to 50 feet of submersion for up to 14 days, and the company holds ISO 9001:2015 certification.
