Tintometer GmbH, operating worldwide under the Lovibond brand, is a family-owned German company with over 140 years of heritage in analytical instrumentation. Headquartered in Dortmund with additional production and sales facilities in Amesbury (UK), Sarasota (Florida, USA), and Hyderabad (India), the company employs approximately 400 people and serves customers in more than 160 countries. The water testing division manufactures a comprehensive range of photometric and electrochemical instruments: the XD 7000 (tungsten-halogen lamp) and XD 7500 (xenon flash lamp) spectrophotometers with reference beam technology, MD 6xx series LED photometers, TB 350 turbidimeters, PTV process turbidimeters for continuous online monitoring, SD 3x5 series electrochemistry meters, and the EComparator EC 2000 for electronic color comparison. Visual color comparators include the CHECKIT and Comparator 2000+ systems. Sample preparation equipment encompasses the RD 125 thermoreactor for COD digestion, DI10 and DI20 digital incubators for microbiological testing, BD 600 BOD determination systems, and MB4 floc testers. Reagent systems span VARIO tablets, powder dispensers (PD 250), liquid and tube reagents, plus the newer DPD Evo Formula for chlorine testing. The company also produces arsenic test kits, Legionella detection kits, dipslides, and non-oxidizing biocide test kits. A separate color measurement division produces PFXi-series spectrophotometric colorimeters and visual comparison instruments for oils, fuels, and food. Tintometer holds ISO 17025 accreditation for reference materials complying with ASTM, DIN, AOCS, and ISO standards.
