The Water & Carbon Group
About
The Water and Carbon Group (WCG), founded in 2007 and headquartered at 2125 Center Ave, Suite 507 in Fort Lee, New Jersey, is an environmental engineering company specializing in PFAS removal and leachate treatment for landfill and industrial clients. Operating across the United States and Australia, WCG's flagship technology is the LEEF System, a foam fractionation process that physically separates per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances from wastewater by injecting air to create bubbles that attract amphiphilic PFAS compounds, forming concentrated foam that is extracted and separated. The LEEF System achieves over 99 percent PFAS removal efficiency reaching the limit of detection, reduces residual volume to 0.1 to 0.3 percent of daily capacity, requires no chemical inputs or pretreatment, and concentrates PFAS by up to 10,000 times. The system operates in continuous flow mode with primary stripping and polishing stages for sustained removal rates. WCG provides end-to-end service including site investigation, system design, installation, commissioning, and operations, with options ranging from full-time on-site staff to remote management. The company has treated over 36.5 million gallons of leachate to date, with operational installations at Bethlehem Landfill in Pennsylvania and a Darwin, Australia facility recognized as the world's first PFAS removal system. A Seneca Falls, New York installation was announced as New York state's first PFAS treatment facility.
