SUMA Rührtechnik GmbH, founded in 1957 in Kühbach and now headquartered in Sulzberg in the Allgäu region of Germany, is a family-owned manufacturer of agitators and pumps for biogas, wastewater, industrial, and agricultural applications. Under the leadership of Paul Thürwächter and managing directors Lena Undeutsch and Simon Lottner, the company employs over 160 people across five locations and has sold more than 130,000 agitators across 66 countries, with approximately 67 percent export share. SUMA's product line is built on a modular design philosophy with over 540 propeller variants, enabling easy maintenance, upgrading, and retrofitting. The agitator range includes the GIANTMIX long-shaft agitator for through-wall or ceiling-mounted tank mixing, the newly launched Z-MIX central mixer for axial mixing in large-diameter vessels, the ASTRAMIX PT paddle agitator for high-viscosity substrates, and submersible motor agitators available in biogas, industrial, and agricultural configurations. The PRESSURA pump line complements the agitator portfolio with the PRESSURA LW long-shaft pump and PRESSURA TP submersible pump, offering flow rates of 192 to 531 cubic meters per hour for transferring, filling, and circulating applications. SUMA holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ATEX 2014/34/EU certifications, operates its own test tanks and CFD flow simulation capabilities, and maintains subsidiaries in the United States, Brazil, India, and Poland for global customer support.
