Smith & Loveless Inc. is an American manufacturer of pre-engineered water and wastewater pumping, headworks, and treatment systems with over 80 years of continuous operation. Founded by B. Alden Smith and Compere Loveless, the company engineers and builds its products domestically under a Made in USA designation. Their pumping lineup includes the EVERLAST wastewater pump station—designed to convert submersible lift stations—and the CAPSULAR underground pump station, rated for flows up to 20,000 GPM with an advertised 30% cost savings over cast-in-place concrete designs. On the headworks side, S&L offers the PISTA grit chamber family: the PISTA INVORSOR achieves 95% removal of 75-micron grit across all flow conditions, the PISTA VIO provides variable inlet/outlet flexibility while maintaining removal efficiency, and the PISTAWorks packages screening and grit removal into a single skid-mounted unit. Biological treatment products include the TITAN MBR flat-sheet membrane bioreactor with touchscreen PLC controls and streamlined CIP, and the TITAN MEM-BOX, which retrofits conventional plants into water resource recovery facilities without additional basin construction. For mining applications, the DI-SEP SX filter and DI-SEP SX-DAF system deliver up to 99% removal efficiency for copper SX-EW solvent extraction streams.
