About

SEVAR AG, established in 2020 through a managed buyout of Haarslev Industries' environmental technology division, designs and manufactures belt drying systems for the thermal treatment of municipal sewage sludge, industrial sludge, digestate, and biomass. Headquartered near Karlsruhe, Germany, with in-house production and assembly facilities, SEVAR holds ISO 9001:2015 certification and continues belt drying technology with over 30 years of proven operational heritage. The company's core product line is the BD 3000 series modular belt dryer, designated by the number of drying modules — from the BD 3000/6 with six modules up to the BD 3000/16 with sixteen. Each module adds incremental drying capacity, allowing systems to be sized precisely to the required throughput and evaporation rate. The BD 3000/6 twin-line installation in Opole, Poland, processes 24,000 tonnes per annum of sludge from 25 percent to 90 percent dry solids content with a combined evaporation capacity of 2,100 kg H2O per hour. The BD 3000/12 in Jebel Ali, Dubai, handles 112,000 t/a across three lines serving 1.5 million population equivalents, while the BD 3000/16 in Zorbau, Germany, operates fully automated using steam from a waste incineration turbine. SEVAR offers both direct and indirect heating configurations, integrated condensation for exhaust air treatment, and a pilot dryer for on-site testing. Over 40 reference plants operate worldwide, including installations in Germany, Poland, the UAE, New Zealand, and the United States.
