Schreiber LLC
About
Schreiber LLC, headquartered in Trussville, Alabama, has been a wastewater treatment equipment manufacturer since the late 1970s, with over 2,000 installations worldwide and more than 25 patents across its product lines. The company was acquired by Parkson Corporation in 2021, and its products are now distributed under the Parkson brand. Schreiber's signature innovation is the Fuzzy Filter, a compressible media filtration system that uses 1.25-inch synthetic fiber spheres in a 30-inch deep bed. Unlike conventional sand filters, operators can mechanically compress the Fuzzy Filter media on the fly to adjust porosity, achieving hydraulic loading rates of 30 to 45 GPM per square foot and solids capture down to 4 microns. The system requires only 1 to 2 percent wash water, removes phosphorus below 0.1 mg/L, and occupies roughly 20 percent of the footprint of traditional sand filters. Available sizes range from 2.25 to 64 square feet, handling flows from 0.13 to 3.68 MGD. Beyond filtration, Schreiber engineered the Continuously Sequencing Reactor (CSReactor), which performs biological nutrient removal within a single basin using patented flex control systems. The company also manufactures open-flight and tube-mounted screw pumps, grit and grease removal systems, in-channel fine screens and bar screens, peripheral drive clarifiers, and aerobic digesters. Applications span tertiary wastewater treatment, phosphorus polishing, Title 22 water reuse, CSO and SSO wet weather treatment, membrane pretreatment, and produced water.
