Sauereisen, Inc
About
Sauereisen Inc., founded in 1899 and headquartered at 160 Gamma Drive in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a third-generation family-owned manufacturer of corrosion-resistant materials and ceramic adhesives that celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2024. A two-time recipient of the Presidential E Star Award for Exporting Excellence (1978, 2010), the company's flagship SewerGard® 210 family provides ten purpose-formulated epoxy mortar variants for wastewater infrastructure: municipal grades include 210FS (fast-setting), 210GL (glaze), 210RS (rotary spray), 210S (sprayable), 210T (trowelable), 210X (high-strength), 210XHB (high-build), and 210XROL (rollable), while industrial grades include 210GLN (glaze), 210SN (sprayable), and 210TN (trowelable). Beyond SewerGard, Sauereisen produces polymer concrete, primers, protective coatings, industrial flooring, refractories, inflow and infiltration sealants, linings, mortars, membranes and expansion joints, and substrate repair materials. The ceramic compounds division manufactures air-setting, chemical-setting, and hydraulic-setting adhesives—the company's original 1899 product, a high-temperature adhesive cement used in nearly every US-manufactured automobile, remains in production today. Acquired companies include Nukem (1982), Coatings Composits (1992), and Pocono Fabricators (2008). Sauereisen provides specification development, contractor training, and application inspection services across municipal and industrial wastewater, chemical processing, power generation, oil and gas, food and beverage, mining, and sulfur compound handling sectors.
