Salttech B.V.
About
Salttech B.V., based in Joure, The Netherlands, develops and markets the Dyvar® technology platform for brine concentration and crystallization. Unlike conventional thermal evaporators, Dyvar® uses patented flash evaporation cyclones that separate heating surfaces from evaporation surfaces, preventing scaling and fouling while handling salinities up to 220,000 mg/L TDS. Internal dynamic vapor recovery recycles heat internally, driving brines past the crystallization point to recover valuable salts through fractional crystallization. The process is fully electric, requiring no continuous steam supply, and units ship as containerized or skid-mounted plug-and-play systems with automated remote operation. A pilot-scale Dyvar®-1 unit is available for process assessment before full deployment. Salttech's technology targets six primary sectors: oil and gas (produced and flowback water concentration), dairy (treating RO and electrodialysis concentrates), mining including lithium and copper (brine concentration and mineral recovery), landfill leachate (RO brine management to cut disposal costs), process industry brines (chemical mother liquors and mixed streams), and water utilities (nitrate-rich ion exchange regeneration brines). The company has received the Aquatech Innovation Award and the World Oil Awards 2022 recognition, and was featured at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Forum in 2017.
