Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH
About
Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH, established in 1969 and headquartered in Wangen im Allgäu in southern Germany near the borders of Austria and Switzerland, is a manufacturer of progressing cavity pumps, twin-screw pumps, and pump modules for demanding fluid handling applications. Now part of the Atlas Copco Group, Wangen engineers its products for extreme robustness and reliable continuous operation under harsh conditions. The company's progressing cavity pump portfolio includes submersible (immersion) variants, hygienic-grade models for food and pharmaceutical compliance, hopper feed configurations for viscous and high-solids media, and suction-type designs. Its twin-screw pump line provides CIP-capable sanitary fluid transfer. On the modules side, Wangen offers the bio-mix 200 and bio-roxx systems for biogas substrate preparation and feeding. A notable reference installation is the Atotonilco wastewater treatment plant in Mexico, where 98 Wangen KL-65S units were deployed, and the Blominmäki underground wastewater treatment plant in Finland, which operates 59 Wangen pumps. Wangen serves wastewater treatment and sewage, biogas, agriculture, food and beverage, chemicals and paper, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, mining and tunneling, and shipbuilding. The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications, operates a Pump Academy training program, and maintains a 24-hour service hotline for aftermarket support.
