Prospiant
About
Prospiant is the largest North American manufacturer of commercial greenhouse structures and controlled-environment agriculture systems, formed in 2021 from the merger of Rough Brothers (est. 1932), Nexus Greenhouse Systems (est. 1967), and ThermoEnergy Solutions (est. 2006). Operating as a subsidiary of Gibraltar Industries, the company manufactures at facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio (60,000 sq ft) and Kingsville, Ontario, Canada. Prospiant's greenhouse lines include the Vail A-frame, Venlo glass structures in Produce and Floriculture Pro variants, Grand Teton and standard Poly Arch poly-covered models, Windjammer 5000 and 6000 and Columbine ground-to-ground ranges, the Dual Atrium for loading dock coverage, and the Classroom Cultivator for educational settings. An Open Roof model provides full natural ventilation. Each greenhouse integrates shade and energy curtain systems, irrigation and fertigation delivery, hydronic 4-pipe HVACD climate control, forced-air and hydronic heating, environmental controls, blackout systems, and indoor grow lighting. Growing systems include hanging basket conveyors and flood table benches. Beyond greenhouses, Prospiant produces steel utility buildings, glass pool and car wash enclosures, BIPV and solar shade canopies, and offers powder coating services. The company serves produce growers, floriculture operations, garden retail centers, medicinal plant cultivators, and research and education institutions, offering design-build-integrate-operate capabilities from project concept through ongoing maintenance.
