About

NEFCO Systems, founded in the late 1980s in Stamford, Connecticut and now headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, engineers and manufactures fiberglass reinforced polymer (FRP) products for water and wastewater treatment clarifiers. Operating as part of the North American Filtration Family of Companies, NEFCO serves installations in over 16 countries. Their flagship product is the Stamford Baffle 3.0, a density current baffle featuring a 30-degree inclination angle and horizontal vent design that redirects flow away from the launder and weir wall, achieving up to 70 percent TSS reduction in clarifier effluent. Additional baffle configurations include wall-mounted, launder-mounted, and dual-surface variants — the latter reducing effluent solids by up to 80 percent in high-flow combined sewer applications. NEFCO's launder cover systems come in six configurations: A/B overlap, B/B full-access, Zipper, Rim-Flo, Dual Weir, and Self-Supporting — each designed to block sunlight and suppress algae growth. Odor control covers are sealed, walk-on FRP systems containing over 80 percent of clarifier odors originating at the effluent weir, with hinged access hatches and non-skid surfaces. Complementary FRP products include baffle walls, corrosion-resistant trough systems, and custom weirs and scum baffles. All NEFCO products carry NSF 61 certification and are custom-engineered to specific clarifier dimensions using CFD modeling.
