Lystek
About
Lystek International is an organic resource recovery technology company headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, and a division of the Tomlinson Group since 2011. Founded around 2000, the company celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025. Lystek's core technology is Lystek THP, a patented low-temperature Thermal Hydrolysis Process that reduces biosolids viscosity while achieving Class A pathogen reduction standards. The system is available as new installations, retrofits to existing anaerobic digestion infrastructure, or as the mobile Package THP containerized unit for temporary or pilot applications. Three product lines derive from the THP process: LysteGro, a liquid Class A biosolids-derived fertilizer distributed for agricultural and land reclamation use; LysteMize, a digester enhancement solution that increases biogas production by thermally hydrolyzing feedstock before anaerobic digestion; and LysteCarb, an alternative carbon source for Biological Nutrient Removal systems. Lystek operates Organic Material Recovery Centers in Southgate, Ontario and Fairfield, California, the latter structured as a public-private partnership with the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District. The Southgate facility has surpassed one million tons of LysteGro produced and distributed. Additional installations serve St. Cloud, Minnesota; Commerce, Michigan; Valley Sanitary District, California; and facilities in the UAE. Lystek provides technology supply, design-build services, fertilizer sales and management, and regional processing facility operations.
