Licus ProTech is a German engineering company specializing in long-shaft agitation technology for municipal and industrial water treatment. Their flagship product, the LICUS Langwellenrührwerk (long-shaft mixer), uses a vertical shaft with a 1.8-meter propeller operating at 10–40 RPM driven by an IE5 high-efficiency gear motor. The design creates axial downward flow throughout the full tank depth, gently resuspending settled solids at the basin bottom while minimizing shear stress to protect biomass, activated sludge flocs, and MBBR carriers. A defining engineering feature is the dry-mounted drive unit positioned entirely outside the liquid medium, eliminating submersion-related wear and corrosion that plagues conventional submersible mixers.
