Landia, Inc.
About
Landia A/S, founded in 1950 in Lem, Denmark, invented the chopper pump and has spent 75 years refining it into one of the most recognizable brands in wastewater and biogas processing. The company's US subsidiary, Landia, Inc., operates from Morrisville, North Carolina. Landia's product portfolio is built around its proprietary hardened-steel chopper pump technology, which macerates solids before they enter the pump hydraulics — a design that originated for agricultural manure handling and now spans biogas, municipal wastewater, industrial food processing, and aquaculture. In wastewater, Landia offers submersible and dry-installed chopper pumps, submersible propeller mixers, side-entry mixers, the MBBR BioMover carrier media mixing system, jet aerators, recirculation pumps, and lift station chopper pumps. For biogas, the Landia GasMix system recirculates liquid and biogas within anaerobic digesters, achieving 15–43% increases in biogas yields according to published case studies, with all mechanical components located outside the tank for maintenance without draining. The BioChop food waste pre-treatment and ensiling system processes 1,000 to 50,000+ lbs/day and includes a pasteurizer option achieving 70°C for one hour. GatorSeries pumps round out the municipal offering. Landia manufactures all products at its Lem factory and serves markets across the US, UK, Germany, France, China, Romania, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.
