Kusters Zima
About
Kusters Water, operating under Zima Corporation (part of the Jagenberg Group), is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer of headworks, clarification, thickening, biological treatment, and odor control equipment for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment. Based in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the company acquired Hi-Tech Environmental in 2012 to expand its municipal and industrial offerings. The ProTechtor product line spans the full headworks scope: multi-rake bar screens (4-100mm bar spacing, channels 1-15 feet wide, depths to 40 feet), perforated plate filter screens (3, 6, 10mm perforations), centerflow band screens (2-10 foot panels, 90-degree vertical orientation), screenings washer compactors (200-350mm screw diameters, up to 450 cubic feet per hour throughput, over 95% fecal matter reduction, 60-70% volume and weight reduction), internally fed drum screens (0.6-3mm perforations), spiral screw screens, and static screens (0.01-0.100 inch wedge wire openings, 18-120 inch standard sizes). Grit handling includes the XGT vortex grit removal system (in use since 1984), traveling grit and grease bridges (95% removal of 50-mesh grit at design flow), circular grit collectors (8-40 foot diameter, 1-64 MGD capacity), grit washers (targeting less than 3% volatile solids), and grit classifiers. Clarification products cover primary, secondary, and final clarifiers in scraper, spiral, suction pipe, and suction header configurations with hydraulic drives featuring 4-20 mA torque monitoring. The company also offers the Terminodour ionizing odor control system, Zi-Biox package plants and trickling filters, and the Headworks Complete Plant (HCP) integrating screening, grit collection, and grease removal. All products feature stainless steel construction, maintenance-free bottom bearings, and a 3-year factory warranty.
