Kanadevia Inova
About
Kanadevia Inova, formerly Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI), is a global EPC partner for thermal and biological waste treatment with over 2,000 completed projects across 17 countries and a workforce exceeding 3,500. The company delivers energy-from-waste incineration plants and anaerobic digestion facilities from initial development and financing through engineering, construction, and long-term operation. Its flagship biological technology is Kompogas, a continuous dry anaerobic digestion process operating at thermophilic conditions (55°C) with approximately 14 days of retention time in horizontal plug-flow digesters. Kompogas digesters are available in steel and concrete configurations (models PF800 and PF1800), processing feedstocks from separately collected biowaste and green waste to the organic fraction of MSW and grease trap waste, with nearly 100 reference plants worldwide since 1991. For thermal waste treatment, Kanadevia Inova designs and builds EfW plants using roller grate combustion technology with integrated energy recovery. The company also offers gas upgrading via two routes: membrane technology achieving ≥98% methane purity with <0.5% methane slip, and amine wash achieving up to 99.5% methane purity with ≤0.1% slip. Ancillary equipment includes the KOM+Press dewatering press for digestate separation and Kanadevia Inova Pulse, an AI-driven digital platform for plant monitoring and optimization. Services span development, EPC turnkey delivery, DBOO/DBFOO operational models, maintenance, and modernization.
