Jaeger Messtechnik
About
Jaeger Messtechnik, founded in 1985 by Udo Karl Jäger and based in St. Stefan im Lavanttal, Austria, manufactures electromagnetic flow meters for water and wastewater pipeline applications. The company's Observer series employs Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction to measure volumetric flow rate and volume in both pressurized and non-pressurized pipelines. The product line includes the Observer fm-s and fm2s stationary models for permanent installation, and the Observer fm3 portable model with carrying case and autonomous power supply for temporary field measurements. All Observer meters cover pipe diameters from DN 100 to DN 800 mm, flow velocities from 0.06 to 9 m/s, and flow rates from 0.72 to 4,068 m³/h. Accuracy ranges from ±0.5% of measured value at velocities above 0.5 m/s to ±3.0% at low velocities. A key differentiator is that Observer meters require no straight pipe length upstream or downstream of the installation point, since each unit incorporates its own properly-sized measurement section with an upward bend ensuring full pipe cross-section fill. Pneumatic sealing elements enable easy pipeline mounting without flanges. The Observer series carries an MTBF of 65,000 hours (approximately 14 years) and is registered in the Russian State Register of Measuring Instruments (No. 71634-18, valid through 2028). Jaeger Messtechnik serves municipal water supply, wastewater, and industrial process measurement across Europe.
