Innovatreat (legal entity: Innovative Treatment Products, Inc.) is an Owings Mills, Maryland-based manufacturer of advanced decentralized wastewater treatment systems specializing in membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology. Founded by Robert Kershner, who brings over 38 years of water and environmental industry experience, the company engineers the miniMBR product family — externally mounted, vertically oriented tubular ultrafiltration membrane systems using 0.03-micron PVDF membranes for biomass separation. The standard miniMBR skid handles flows from 1,500 to 120,000 gallons per day, scalable to 1 MGD in parallel trains, with the proprietary airScrub low-energy air scour system and automated Membrane Laundry clean-in-place process. The miniMBR Package Plant encloses the system in a single-piece vacuum-infused FRP tank with R-12 to R-24 foam-core insulation, rated for 160 mph winds, and pre-equipped with HVAC and miniSCADA+ controls. The miniMBR aquaMINE targets stringent water reuse standards with 6-log bacterial and 4-log virus barriers, on-line turbidity and UV transmittance monitoring, automated membrane integrity testing, integrated UV disinfection, and optional rainwater blending. The miniMBR Marine variant is US Coast Guard approved for large vessel discharge compliance. The preScreen family of fine screening technologies includes the RDS rotary drum screen (316/304 SS, 0.5–6.0 mm perforation), P pressurized screen, and S submerged screen — all protecting membranes and downstream equipment from trash, fibers, and plastics in raw sewage.
