In-Situ Inc., founded in 1976 in Fort Collins, Colorado, designs, manufactures, sells, and rents environmental and process water monitoring instrumentation and software. The company pioneered the HERMIT datalogger in 1984, the first unit combining field ruggedness with pumping test ease-of-use, and the TROLL 4000 in 1995, an industry-standard all-in-one datalogger, transducer, and temperature sensor. The current product portfolio spans five platform areas. Water quality instruments include multiparameter sondes such as the Aqua TROLL 500, environmental and process sensors, drinking and wastewater analyzers, handhelds, and OEM modules for integration. Water level monitoring covers practical and professional loggers, specialized and non-contact level instruments, and water level meters. Water flow systems feature flow monitoring hardware and FloSeries3 expansion cards. Remote monitoring products include VuLink next-generation telemetry devices, buoys for surface deployment, and the HydroVu cloud data services platform. Process analyzers encompass Mini Analyzers, UV Analyzers, and the ChemScan real-time water quality analyzer line acquired in 2019. Software tools include the VuSitu mobile app for field data collection and HydroVu for cloud-based data visualization and sharing. Through strategic acquisitions including MACE ultrasonic flow meters (2017, Australia), ChemScan (2019, Wisconsin), Partech sensors (UK), and Ajax Environmental rental equipment (2021, Houston), In-Situ expanded from its groundwater monitoring roots into a comprehensive water instrumentation platform. The company now serves agriculture, aquaculture, drinking water, groundwater, mining, surface water, coastal, and wastewater markets globally, with offices in the US, UK, Australia, Singapore, India, and Lebanon.
