IEA Derflinger GmbH
About
IEA Derflinger GmbH is an Austrian sludge dewatering technology company headquartered in Pucking, near Linz, that developed the screw press for sludge dewatering in 1990. The technology was marketed in Europe from 2005 and produced in Austria by IEA from 2010. With over 1,000 sludge dewatering installations supplied in the last decade and more than 2,000 IEA-technology screw presses operating across Europe, the company offers over 40 different screw press models spanning capacities from 10 to 2,000 kg DS/hour, with mining variants reaching 50,000 kg DS/hour. IEA’s screw presses are organized into three types: SP-M for inorganic sludge with highly abrasive content, SP-HF (High Flow) for maximum throughput in municipal applications, and SP-P&F for sludge with high fiber content. All wetted parts are stainless steel, drive power consumption is low, noise is under 70 dB, and the screw seal is the primary wearing part with 5,000–15,000 operating hours service life. IEA also manufactures the IEA Filter Press, a fully automatic chamber and diaphragm filter press with plate formats from 250×250 mm to 2,000×2,000 mm and pressures to 30 bar. Additional offerings include a mobile dewatering fleet with SP-HF 06 XL and SP-HF 08 XL road trains, thermofiltration technology achieving up to 5% TS improvement over conventional dewatering, and a filtrate polishing system guaranteeing greater than 99% solid capture. IEA operates subsidiary offices in Germany, Thailand, and Brazil.
Key Products
Sludge dewatering screw presses available in three configurations (compact/container, trailer, or base frame) with capacities from 10 to 2,000 kg DS/hour; the screw seal is the only relevant wearing part with 5,000-15,000 operating hours service life.
Fully automatic chamber filter press with massive frame and hydraulic closure, available in plate formats from 250×250 mm to 2,000×2,000 mm, with polypropylene or higher-grade filter plates for 15-30 bar applications.
Automatic membrane filter press built on the chamber filter plate design with an elastic diaphragm providing additional dewatering compression using compressed air or water, achieving pressures up to 30 bar for very low moisture content cakes.
Mobile screw press and filter press units available for on-site sludge dewatering projects on a rental or service basis.
Post-filtration technology guaranteeing greater than 99% solid capture rate in filtrate water, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality effluent.
Innovative combination of thermal treatment and screw press filtration achieving up to 5% TS improvement in drainage value compared to conventional dewatering.
