IDE Technologies
About
IDE Technologies, founded in 1965 and headquartered in Kadima, Israel, is a global leader in water desalination and advanced treatment solutions with over 400 plants delivered across more than 40 countries and a daily production capacity of approximately 6 million cubic meters. Owned by Alfa Water Partners since 2017, IDE holds more than 90 patents and has been recognized by MIT Technology Review (50 Smartest Companies) and Fortune (2nd place, Companies That Change the World). The company's industrial water treatment portfolio centers on the proprietary MAXH2O PFRO (Pulse Flow Reverse Osmosis) system, which achieves significantly higher recovery rates than conventional RO by operating in a dead-end mode with periodic high-velocity brine pulses—eliminating the need for antiscalants while reducing fouling sixfold—and the MAXH2O Desalter for integrated brine minimization. For seawater desalination, IDE delivers SWRO plants (notably the Carlsbad facility, the largest in the Western Hemisphere, and the Sorek series in Israel) alongside low-temperature thermal distillation (MED/MVC) units. The company also provides Zero Liquid Discharge and Minimal Liquid Discharge solutions, industrial physical-chemical and biological pretreatment, deionization, and PFAS removal technologies. IDE serves municipal, power generation, refining and petrochemicals, semiconductor manufacturing, mining, and data center markets, offering BOT, EPC, and O&M contract models.
