IBAK Helmut Hunger GmbH & Co. KG
About
IBAK GmbH, originally founded as Ingenieur Büro Atlas Kiel by Helmut Hunger in 1945 and now managed by Daniel Hunger and Dorian Hunger, is a family-owned manufacturer of sewer inspection and rehabilitation systems based in Schönkirchen near Kiel, Germany. With over 80 R&D employees and seven locations across Germany, IBAK pioneered the sewer inspection camera in 1955 and has since introduced milestones including the first color TV camera for sewers (1980), the 360-degree panoramic system (2002), and AI-powered automated inspection. The company's inspection product line spans vehicle-mounted systems — the PANORAMO 4K delivering ultra-high-resolution 3D interior scans of main sewers in a single pass, and the PANORAMO SI 4K for manhole inspection — alongside mobile platforms (MainLite, MainLite easy), the MiniLite push rod camera with over 2,000 units deployed worldwide, the ASPECTA zoom pole camera for manhole-free assessment, the PEGASUS fiber-optic Full HD camera, and the ORION inspection camera with more than 8,000 units in service. For rehabilitation, the electrically driven MicroGator and pneumatically driven MicroGator Air provide cutting and repair capabilities in main sewers. The LISY satellite system inspects lateral connections from the main line. IBAK also manufactures the TITAN high-pressure flushing system and builds over 120 specialized inspection vehicles per year. Software platforms include the IKAS integrated management system and the ISAM AI-based condition analysis service.
