Hybag Automationen AG
About
Hybag Automationen AG, founded in 1973 and headquartered in Linden (Bern), Switzerland, manufactures organic waste processing systems and automation equipment with over 100 installations worldwide. The company's core technology is its patented Separation Hammer Mill, using horizontal swinging hammers at 1,500 RPM combined with air stream separation to achieve approximately 90% substrate recovery from packaged food waste. Available in sizes NW 500, 600, and 800, the mill produces 3–6 mm particle sizes with foreign matter content below 1%. System Tutto processes food and kitchen waste including packaged goods, generating plastic-free bio-substrate for biogas production yielding up to 850 kWh per tonne. System Filtro handles wastewater screenings at treatment plants, reducing incineration volume by up to 90% while routing organics to digestion. System Casa processes household organic waste collected in bags at urban collection points. The HM 800 Separator reduces slaughter waste to 3–6 mm particles for biogas digestion. Through subsidiary Hybag Biogreenline AG (founded 2009, Amriswil), the VS-Series vertical separators (VS400/600/900) achieve over 99% purity at 10–24 m³/hour with controllable water content and 10+ year service life, while VC-Series compactors (VC100/200/300) process cans and packaging at up to 7.5 m³/hour. Auxiliary equipment includes depackaging presses, ultra-fine separators, calibrators, drum screen separators, tipping containers (10–35 m³), lift-tip devices, container washing systems, and manure removal conveyors. Since 2022, Hybag partners with OPPLIGER FSA for oil/water and emulsion separation.
Key Products
Food and kitchen waste depackaging and processing system using the patented Separation Hammer Mill; separates organic content from packaging at approximately 90% recovery rate; output is plastic-free bio-substrate for biogas production yielding up to 850 kWh per tonne
Wastewater screenings (Rechengut) processing system that reduces incineration volume and costs by up to 90%; routes organic fraction to digestion for increased biogas yield
Household organic waste processing system for waste collected in small bags at urban collection points; separates usable substrate from packaging and foreign materials
Intestinal and slaughter waste processor achieving 3-6 mm particle sizes suitable for biogas digestion; previously such waste was dried and incinerated
Vertical separation systems processing 10-24 cubic meters per hour with over 99% purity bio-substrate output, controllable water content, and 10+ year service life
Processes market waste from cans, tubes, and tins by bursting packaging under high pressure and squeezing out contents; forms packaging into flat briquettes for disposal
Filters residual foreign matter particles from substrate at the exit of the digestion process line; ensures final substrate purity for agricultural field application as fertilizer
Single-shaft pre-crusher for organic valuable materials from the food industry; specially adapted to Hybag hammer mill systems
Innovative Hybag solution for separating floating debris and contamination material from processed waste streams
Processing containers for market waste products available in 10-35 cubic meter standard sizes or custom configurations
Compact devices for lifting and emptying MGB wheelie bin containers for organic waste; 1.2 square meter footprint, approximately 550 kg floor load
Automatic washing machines and container washing systems for 120L and 240L waste bins; cleans containers including the rim
Mole-type conveyor system that transports manure directly from the barn to the manure pile using an underground conveyor
Systems for separating oil-water mixtures and breaking emulsations into their component parts, offered through partnership with OPPLIGER FSA since 2022
