Nefco
About
NEFCO is a manufacturer of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) products for water and wastewater treatment, founded in the late 1980s in Stamford, Connecticut, and now headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. With over 30 years of experience and multiple patents, NEFCO produces corrosion-resistant FRP components that outlast steel alternatives in harsh treatment plant environments. The company's flagship product is the Stamford Baffle, a density current baffle now in its third generation; the Stamford Baffle 3.0 features horizontal vents that create a jet-like flow directed away from the launder wall, achieving up to 70 percent TSS reduction compared to roughly 40 percent for the original design. NEFCO also offers the Dual Surface Density Current Baffle, a wedge-shaped design for large clarifiers operating at high flow rates that reduces effluent solids by up to 80 percent. Their FRP cover systems fight algae growth and contain odors on clarifiers, with customers reporting maintenance reductions from hours per day to hours per month and a typical payback period of three years. NEFCO's trough systems come in square-bottom, round-bottom, V-bottom, and Z-shaped profiles with laminate that is 30 percent stronger than standard quarter-inch trough material and flanges that are 150 percent thicker. All products carry NSF 61 certification for drinking water contact safety.
