L&J Technologies, operating through its L&J Engineering and Shand & Jurs divisions, has been manufacturing industrial tank equipment since 1922 from its ISO 9001:2015-certified facility in Hillside, Illinois. Originally founded in Berkeley, California, the company now serves five primary industries — oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, pulp and paper, wastewater, and food and beverage — with products engineered and manufactured in the USA. The L&J Engineering division produces precision level gauging and monitoring systems, including the evo 1610 radar level gauge (certified for custody transfer accuracy per OIML R85:2008), the evo 2600 radar level gauge, and the MCG 3905 inventory management system. The MCG 2000MAX transmitter upgrades existing float-and-tape mechanical level gauges to modern electronic monitoring. The Shand & Jurs division, with over a century of heritage, specializes in conservation vents, flame and detonation arresters, tank blanketing valves, and specialty fittings for industrial storage tanks. For wastewater applications, Shand & Jurs manufactures digester cover equipment, digester gas stream handling systems, waste gas burners (candlestick and enclosed types designed for low-BTU anaerobic digester gas), and water drain valves — making it a key supplier for anaerobic digestion infrastructure at municipal wastewater treatment plants.
