Hidrostal is a Swiss pump manufacturer headquartered in Neunkirch that invented the screw centrifugal impeller, a design that provides the largest ball passages available for clog-free pumping of high-solids liquids. Founded in 1957 by Martin Stahle in Lima, Peru, the company now operates own sales companies in 20 countries with over 1,000 employees serving more than 100 countries. Hidrostal manufactures in three own foundries and offers 800 standard hydraulics combinable with approximately 40 motor or bearing frame configurations. Their wastewater pump lines span end suction volute pumps in compact, submersible, immersible, and bearing frame variants; axial diffuser pumps in axial column and vertical turbine configurations; and integrated pump systems including SuperBetsy packaged pump stations, PreroClean self-cleaning wet well systems, Prerostal prefabricated pump stations, Floating Pump Systems for variable-level applications, and AEON Mobile Pumps for rapid deployment. The HidroMix line covers submersible mixers and aerators. Key sectors include municipal wastewater collection and treatment, industrial effluent, manure handling, ship wastewater, construction dewatering, tunneling, pulp and paper, oil and gas, mining, and food processing including fish handling and brewing.
