Herrenknecht AG
About
Herrenknecht Separations, a division of Herrenknecht AG based in Schwanau, Germany, delivers integrated separation technology and water treatment solutions for tunneling and construction projects, with over 350 completed projects across 40-plus countries and more than 20 million m³ of excavated material processed. Building on 45 years of Herrenknecht Group tunneling expertise, the Separations division provides modular, containerized systems designed for rapid deployment and scalable capacity in a CSC-certified transport format. The product portfolio spans separation plants combining screening machines and hydrocyclones for throughput from under 500 to over 500 m³/h, screen drum machines and vibrating screening machines with replaceable polyurethane linings for high-silt geologies, and hydrocyclones for coarse and fine particle separation. Fine treatment capabilities include the HK DRS density regulation system for extending suspension life, HKFP chamber filter presses for maximum dewatering and filtrate quality, and HKC decanter centrifuges for continuous high-throughput dewatering. The HK WTP (Water Treatment Plant) treats construction site wastewater — drainage, filtration backwash, and washing water — for regulatory-compliant discharge or reuse in a closed water cycle. Supporting infrastructure encompasses HKBM bentonite mixing plants, bolted storage tanks and silos, belt conveyor systems for solid material transport, containerized control rooms with rheological laboratories, and the HERRENKNECHT.CONNECTED data management platform for real-time remote monitoring. All systems feature optional noise and vibration canceling for urban deployment, with after-sales services including consulting, refurbishment, buyback, and rental.
Key Products
Multi-stage systems combining screening machines and hydrocyclones for solid-liquid separation, available in utility (<500 m³/h) and traffic (>500 m³/h) tunneling configurations.
Rotary screening units designed for geologies with high silt and clay content, featuring innovative replaceable polyurethane linings and adaptable design.
Coarse and dewatering screening machines with up to 3 decks providing high G-forces for efficient solid separation and dewatering of excavated material.
Coarse and fine cyclones used in combination with dewatering screening machines for efficient particle separation and dewatering of slurries.
Containerized bypass system with cyclone stage, optional screening machine, and collecting tank to extend suspension life and boost fine treatment capacity.
Chamber plate filter press operating under pressure for discontinuous but flexible dewatering, achieving maximum dewatering and filtrate quality.
Continuous-operation decanter centrifuge with drum body and internal screw conveyor for high throughput and good dewatering performance in various capacities.
Modular, containerized system treating construction site wastewater (drainage, filtration backwash, washing water) for regulatory-compliant discharge or reuse, reducing fresh water consumption.
High-shear mixing plant with exact weighing system for producing quality bentonite suspension for tunnel boring operations.
Bolted, configurable storage tanks and silos for water, bentonite suspension, lime, and other consumables in modular container design.
Collecting, elevating, and slewing conveyors for removal and transport of separated solids from screening and dewatering processes.
Container-housed control systems with touch screens, cameras, and rheological measurement lab equipment for process monitoring and quality control.
