Heartland
About
Heartland, operating since 2008, provides on-site waste management and industrial wastewater treatment solutions with particular specialization in PFAS-contaminated water, landfill leachate, and power plant effluent including FGD and CRL waste streams. The company's proprietary technology platform centers on the Heartland Concentrator, a thermal evaporation system designed for assured PFAS separation and volume reduction, supported by the HelioStorm thermal destruction technology for contaminant destruction, the LTC Dry low-temperature drying system, membrane treatment systems, and hybrid CoVAP and ROVAP configurations. The ROVAP system has demonstrated 98 percent leachate volume reduction in field operations. Heartland operates a build-own-operate business model, taking full responsibility for constructing, owning, and operating systems at customer sites, and offers Evaporation-as-a-Service (EaaS) as a fully financed deployment model with simple per-gallon or per-month fee structures. The company employs over 50 percent engineers on staff and offers the Trailblazer mobile demonstration unit and Resolve mobile evaporator for on-site pilot testing. Heartland has deployed systems across multiple US states including Florida, New Jersey, Mississippi, and Alaska. The company received the GWI Distinction Award for 2022 Industrial Project of the Year and secured a $45 million investment from The Baupost Group. Markets served include landfill leachate management, PFAS-impacted site remediation, power generation wastewater, oil and gas produced water, and industrial wastewater with minimum liquid discharge and zero liquid discharge requirements.
