Harmsco Inc., established in 1958 and headquartered in Riviera Beach, Florida, is a family-owned American manufacturer of liquid filtration products with over 65 years of continuous operation. The company holds numerous U.S. patents for its filtration technologies and produces housings and cartridge systems for commercial, industrial, and municipal water treatment. Harmsco's flagship Hurricane series features the patented Up-flow Design, which combines cyclonic separation with cartridge filtration in a single housing—separating dense solids before they reach filter elements to extend service life and reduce maintenance costs. The Hurricane Swing Bolt (SB) housings handle flows to 1,200 GPM, while the Swing Bolt High Flow (SBHF) series reaches 2,400 GPM, all constructed from 304 or 316L stainless steel to ASME design standards with NSF/ANSI 61 listing. The WaterBetter (WB) series provides single-cartridge up-flow filtration to 150 GPM, with a larger WB 5x170FL model reaching 600 GPM. Municipal applications target cryptosporidium removal, PFAS and PFOS reduction, turbidity reduction, LT2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule compliance, and desalination pre-filtration. Cartridge micron ratings span 100 down to 0.2 microns absolute. Additional housing lines include the HIF series to 800 GPM, HMC series to 1,400 GPM with U-Stamp option, band clamp (BC) housings, FSSS single-cartridge housings rated to 300 PSI, and bag filter housings (HMB, HSB, BCB series).
