Halogen Systems, Inc.
About
Halogen Systems, Inc. is a Nevada-based manufacturer of reagent-free amperometric chlorine analyzers and multiparameter water quality sensors for municipal drinking water, commercial hot water, industrial cooling, maritime ballast water, and offshore wind applications. Founded under a U.S. Navy Small Business Innovative Research contract from the Office of Naval Research, the company holds 11 worldwide patents and has expanded from ballast water compliance into distribution system monitoring, Legionella prevention, and industrial treatment verification. The core technology is a membrane-free, flow-independent amperometric chlorine sensor that installs directly in-pipe without requiring reagent cartridges, electrolyte, or calibration chemicals, operating across 0 to 145 PSI and 0 to 14 fps flow velocity. The flagship MP5 Multiparameter Chlorine Sensor simultaneously measures free chlorine, monochloramine, and total chlorine accurate to 0.04 mg/L with EPA Method 334.0 approval and NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certification. The MP-HOT variant provides the same multiparameter capability for commercial hot water systems and Legionella prevention, while the MP-FREE offers dedicated free chlorine measurement and the MP-TOTAL measures total chlorine, monochloramine, and free chlorine simultaneously. Supporting sensors include the MP-ORP for ORP and pH, a conductivity sensor, a Ballast Water TRO sensor for IMO and USCG compliance, a titanium Offshore Wind sensor for marine environments, and an explosion-proof sensor rated for hazardous locations. The D20 controller provides data acquisition, display, and output signal management. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Modbus, BACnet, Wi-Fi, cellular telemetry, and Sensus AMI integration, with cloud-based remote monitoring available. The no-waste-stream design eliminates the 70,000+ gallons per year of non-revenue water consumed by conventional reagent-based analyzers, and SensiCLENE self-cleaning technology extends maintenance intervals to six months. All products are manufactured in the USA and are BABA-compliant.
