Greasezilla
About
Greasezilla, operated by Downey Ridge Environmental and headquartered in West Virginia, manufactures turnkey FOG (Fats, Oils, and Grease) and UCO (Used Cooking Oil) separation systems that transform grease trap waste from a costly disposal liability into a revenue-generating resource. The patented Greasezilla system processes FOG waste into three distinct output streams: water suitable for direct sewer discharge, clean energy resources, and a high-quality brown grease advanced biofuel offtake that serves as low-carbon-intensity feedstock for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel production. The system operates carbon-negatively, running entirely on approximately five percent of the biofuel it harvests, consuming no fossil fuels in the process. This eliminates the need for dewatering, drying, lagooning, land application, composting, incineration, and hauling. Greasezilla serves wastewater treatment plants seeking to prevent FOG from entering collection systems, commercial FOG processors reducing operational costs, grease trap waste pumpers and haulers improving receiving station throughput, industrial food processors, managed waste sites, and the biofuels and biodiesel industry. Through a strategic partnership with bp, Greasezilla funds five million dollars per new production site, addressing the estimated 25 billion dollars in annual U.S. sewer infrastructure damage attributable to grease.
