ENOGIA, founded in 2009 and headquartered in Marseille, France, is the French leader in converting waste heat to electricity through Organic Rankine Cycle technology. Listed on Euronext Growth Paris since 2021, the company designs and manufactures compact ORC modules ranging from 10 kWe to over 1 MWe that recover thermal energy from sources as low as 70 degrees C — one of the few companies worldwide offering such low-temperature operation. ENOGIA's patented micro-turbine technology features hermetic single-shaft turbogenerator design with no mechanical seals, an oil-free lubrication system that eliminates contamination risk, and refrigerants with a global warming potential of just 1, making them 800 times more environmentally friendly than conventional solutions. The modules are plug-and-play, requiring only two pipe connections and one power cable, with a 20-year operational lifespan. Reference installations include a 180 kWe unit at Brest water treatment plant commissioned in 2022 with a 3-year payback, dual 180 kWe units at Perenco's UK cogeneration plant producing 3 GWh per year, 40 x 20 kWe modules deployed at Europe's largest anaerobic digestion biogas plant in Germany, and the Sheffield district heating system with Veolia. ENOGIA has also expanded into marine waste heat recovery with 180 kWe systems on three Airbus RoRo vessels saving 168 tonnes of fuel per ship, and a 100 kWe unit on Ponant's Paul Gauguin cruise ship. The Greenshield program offers industrial operators protection from energy price volatility by monetizing waste heat from processes running thousands of hours annually. The company additionally develops hydrogen fuel cell air compressors and custom micro-turbomachinery for space, healthcare, and carbon capture applications.
