Enaqua
About
Enaqua, founded in 1985 as UV Technology and rebranded in 2003, designs and manufactures non-contact UV disinfection systems for water and wastewater treatment at its facility in Vista, California. All systems are BABA (Build America, Buy America) compliant and preassembled to minimize onsite installation. The company's proprietary AFP (Activated Fluoropolymer) technology keeps UV lamps entirely separate from the water stream — water flows through transparent AFP tubes while low-pressure high-output lamps sit outside in a dry environment, eliminating fouling and the need for quartz sleeve cleaning. AFP tubes are self-scouring due to turbulent flow and are effective in water with UV transmittance as low as 15%. Enaqua offers five product series. The M Series (M3, M4, M5) covers compact self-contained UV reactors for small treatment plants and lagoon applications, handling up to 360 gpm. The C Series (C1 through C3) provides in-pipe reactors for medium to large municipal and industrial flows up to 6.0 MGD per bank, with multi-bank configurations reaching 24+ MGD. The D Series (D1 through D3) offers larger in-pipe reactors for flows from 350 gpm to 14,600 gpm, with multi-bank systems reaching 36+ MGD. The E Series handles in-channel installations from 380 gpm to 18,500 gpm, with multi-bank configurations scaling to 100+ MGD for major CSO and surface discharge applications. Each series uses non-amalgam LPHO lamps at 254 nm wavelength with a design dose of approximately 30 mJ/cm² at 65% UVT. Enaqua provides in-house engineering, system design, and controls integration with plant SCADA systems. Applications include municipal wastewater disinfection (secondary effluent, filtered effluent, CSO, SBR, and lagoons), water reuse, and industrial water treatment across mining, food and beverage, textile, aquaculture, and agriculture sectors.
