ELIQUO PMI AS
About
ELIQUO PMI AS, formerly known as Enwa PMI AS until a January 2024 rebranding, is a Norwegian engineering and manufacturing firm and one of Norway's leading contractors in water and wastewater treatment plant construction. Operating as part of the Eliquo Water Group under SKion Water ownership, the company employs approximately 130 people and holds Eco-Lighthouse certification. From its 2,500 square meter production facility in Sandefjord staffed by over 50 certified welders, ELIQUO PMI delivers turnkey treatment plants spanning engineering, prefabrication, installation, and ongoing service. The company holds nine technology patents across its proprietary process portfolio. ELOVAC vacuum degassing extracts residual methane from digested sludge while simultaneously precipitating phosphate via magnesium chloride dosing, improving dewaterability by five or more percentage points. ELODRY is a low-temperature belt dryer achieving 70-80% mass reduction at 750 kWhth per tonne, operating under slight vacuum with Ex-free classification and built-in fire suppression. LYSOTHERM thermal hydrolysis uses thermal oil rather than steam at 158 degrees Celsius and 8-10 bar, with approximately 90% heat recovery via a regenerative water circuit. PYREG pyrolysis converts dried sludge at 500-700 degrees Celsius with syngas combustion at 1250 degrees Celsius, producing EU-certified fertilizer with over 80% plant-available phosphorus recovery. Elozoniq ozone micropollutant removal uses a Roturi gas transfer device at ambient conditions with 3-5 minute contact times. Licensed ANAMMOX deammonification achieves up to 60% operational cost savings over conventional nitrification-denitrification. Additional capabilities include MBBR biological treatment, DAF dissolved air flotation, membrane filtration, UV disinfection, and complete drinking water treatment systems.
Key Products
Vacuum degasses digested sludge with optional simultaneous phosphate precipitation using MgCl2 dosing, extracting residual methane for reuse and preventing uncontrolled struvite scaling while improving dewatering by 5+ percentage points.
Low-temperature sewage sludge belt dryer with stainless steel construction, modular design, achieving 70-80% mass reduction with 750 kWhth/tonne thermal demand. Operates under slight vacuum (Ex-free) with built-in sprinkler system.
Thermal hydrolysis process using tubular heat exchangers and thermal oil instead of steam or chemicals. Operates at 158 deg C and 8-10 bar, with approximately 90% heat recovery via regenerative water circuit. Each module handles approximately 15 tonnes dry solids per day.
Pyrolyzes dried sludge at 500-700 deg C with syngas combustion at 1250 deg C using FLOX burner technology. Produces carbonate-ash fertilizer with up to 15% P2O5 and over 80% plant-available phosphorus recovery while eliminating hormones, germs, and microplastics.
Ozone micropollutant removal using Roturi gas transfer device operating at ambient pressure/temperature with only 3-5 minute contact time. Modular, compact, and containerizable for rental applications.
Anaerobic ammonium oxidation process licensed from Paques, converting NH4+ and NO2- directly to N2 gas. Achieves up to 60% operational cost savings versus conventional nitrification/denitrification with reduced CO2 emissions.
Recovers phosphate from digester sludge as magnesium ammonium phosphate (struvite), preventing uncontrolled scaling while producing a recoverable product.
Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor system using suspended polyethylene carrier elements (SG 0.96) for BOD and nitrogen removal, invented in Norway with over 30 years of design experience.
Physical/chemical separation using micron-sized air bubbles for phosphorus removal (90-98% TP), BOD removal (70-90%), and tertiary polishing after biological processes. Available for flows from 57 to 6,600 m3/h.
Removes up to 90% phosphorus and 40% ammonia from sludge dewatering liquid, producing Crystal Green commercial fertilizer as a slow-release product.
Complete drinking water treatment capabilities including coagulation/flocculation, sand filtration, membrane filtration (UF), iron/manganese removal, chlorine dosing, UV disinfection, and chemical dosing.
Full sludge treatment train including thickening, dewatering (centrifuges, belt thickener, drum screens), digestion, thermal hydrolysis, vacuum degassing, belt drying, and pyrolysis/phosphorus recovery.
Complete project delivery for district heating and cooling networks including engineering, groundworks, pipeworks, water treatment, pre-fabrication, and installation with chemical-free water treatment.
