Electrolytic Technologies Systems LLC
About
Electrolytic Technologies Systems (ETS), operating since 2001 from North Miami Beach, Florida, manufactures on-site chlorine and sodium hypochlorite generation systems under the Klorigen brand. The Klorigen K-Series produces chlorine gas, sodium hypochlorite at up to 15% concentration (150 g/L), and membrane-grade sodium hydroxide using only salt, water, and electricity through electrolysis, with capacities from 400 lbs to 20 tons per day and a 10:1 turndown ratio. The system achieves the lowest chlorate levels among on-site generation technologies and operates at less than 1 atmosphere pressure, virtually eliminating toxic gas release risk. A semi-perfluorinated membrane separates electrodes to prevent hydrogen explosion in electrolyzers and storage. The Klorigen B-Series generates low-strength sodium hypochlorite (up to 0.8% / 8 g/L) from saturated brine or seawater at 1–50+ kg/hr, using a bi-polar tubular electrolyzer cell design with electrode lifespans of at least 5 years. The B-Series eliminates all chemical reporting and Risk Management Plan requirements. Both series are modular, with capacity expandable 2–3x within an existing footprint in under one week, and are designed to fit within standard TEU shipping containers. Projected system lifespan exceeds 20 years with minor refurbishments at 5–8 year intervals. The Klorigen technology is certified by the US Department of Homeland Security as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology under the SAFETY Act and classified as an Inherently Safe Technology, with DHS approval valid through July 2029. ETS global customers collectively produce over 100,000 kg of chlorine daily. Markets served include municipal water and wastewater disinfection, bleach production, oil and gas water treatment, power plant disinfection, and pulp and paper bleaching.
