EJ, originally founded as East Jordan Iron Works in the 1880s, is an American manufacturer of water distribution and infrastructure access products. The company produces the WaterMaster line of dry-barrel fire hydrants, available in CD (Capital Dome) and BR designs with valve openings from 4½" to 5¼". WaterMaster hydrants feature ductile iron construction, 304 stainless steel below-grade fasteners, and are rated for 350 psi working pressure with individual hydrostatic testing to 700 psi. Their FlowMaster resilient wedge gate valves range from 2" through 24" with fully rubber-encapsulated wedges and manganese bronze stems, meeting AWWA C515 and UL 262 standards. A new OS&Y (Outside Screw & Yoke) gate valve extends the FlowMaster line to fire suppression service. EJ also manufactures valve boxes and covers, water meter boxes, cleanout and monument boxes, cast iron and composite manhole covers and frames, drainage and linear trench grates, access hatches, and INFRA-RISER adjustment rings for grade corrections. Streetscape products include tree grates, designer trench grates, and detectable warning plates. Stormwater management products cover solid debris control and liquid pollution control grates. All EJ municipal castings comply with Build America Buy America and American Iron and Steel requirements, and the company emphasizes interchangeability with legacy installations dating back decades.
