Drycake BV, based in South Carolina, USA, develops and manufactures the Twister vertical dry depackaging and separation system alongside complementary grit removal and heat exchange equipment. The company's flagship Twister depackager is a patented third-generation vertical cyclonic separator that operates without process water and eliminates the need for downstream inline grinding, available in two models: the TSS10 (1-3 tonnes/hour, suited for 50-5,000 tonnes/year operations) and the TSS20 (3-10 tonnes/hour, handling 5,000-100,000+ tonnes/year with multiple-unit configurations reaching 15 tonnes/hour). The Twister extracts organic content while leaving packaging structurally intact, achieving greater than 99.5% organic purity in output with reject calorific value of 30 MJ/kg and ash content below 4%. Downstream, the Seditank series (AD-15 through AD-150, rated 15-150 m3/h) removes 95% of grit and particles above 300 microns from organic streams. The Seditank-Plastifloat variant captures residual microplastics, while the Sediwash secondary grit washer reduces final grit weight by 60% and recovers additional gas yield. Additional products include the Orgaspiral screw conveyor, Heatube corrugated tube heat exchanger (ASME-certified for fibrous slurries), Glass Depackager (Deglasser), and Digestate Dryer. The Twister features a 3.5 kW total motor power rating, 3-5 kWh/tonne energy consumption, stainless steel AISI 304/316L construction, Siemens or Allen Bradley PLC controls, and hopper sizes from 6 to 30 m3.
