Composite Access Products

Composite Access Products (CAP) is a McAllen, Texas-based manufacturer of composite manhole covers and frames, distinguished as the only US company to compression-mold composite covers entirely in-house rather than relying on outsourced or imported molding. CAP uses a proprietary blend of continuous, long, and short fibers to achieve both load-bearing strength and surface durability. The flagship CAP ONE line includes the CAP ONE 36-inch model, both rated to AASHTO M 306 HS-25 proof load standards and approved by state DOTs for unrestricted roadway use. Additional products include the CAP CLAW cover, CAP STONE pigmented covers that blend with surrounding pavers, CAP RF covers that permit RF data signals to pass through without drilling antenna holes, and the patented HALO Top Riser Ring. CAP's watertight gasketed and bolted assemblies achieve 0.00 gpm infiltration, directly addressing SSO and I&A problems in sewer systems. Compared to cast iron, CAP covers are approximately half the weight, corrosion-proof, thermally and electrically insulating, and have zero scrap metal value to deter theft. A CAP ONE cover survived a seven-foot storm surge during Hurricane Helene without losing its seal. The company won the Award for Composites Excellence in 2020 and was a finalist in 2023. Primary markets include municipal public works, state DOTs, military infrastructure, utility systems, and grease trap installations.
