Bear River Zeolite

manufacturer

About

Bear River Zeolite (BRZ) mines and processes clinoptilolite zeolite from its own deposit in Preston, Idaho, selling directly under the BRZ trademark in bulk quantities across multiple particle sizes. Their product is 85 to 95 percent pure clinoptilolite, a natural volcanic mineral with high cation exchange capacity that captures, holds, and gradually releases charged ions, approximately 2.2 percent nitrogen loading capacity, and a surface area of roughly 24.9 square meters per gram. The zeolite contains approximately 3.5 percent potassium as a plant nutrient and 2.02 percent calcium as a pH buffer, with less than 0.5 percent non-water-soluble sodium and no significant concentrations of water-soluble toxic trace elements. Its low clay content makes it hard and resistant to attrition. In water and wastewater treatment, BRZ clinoptilolite removes ammonium, heavy metals, light metals, sodium, and radioactive isotopes from groundwater, municipal water, and industrial effluent, and serves as filtration media for swimming pools and ponds. Agricultural applications include soil amendment for slow nitrogen release, the Cattleprime branded flow agent and feed additive that improves pellet durability and reduces livestock odor through ammonium capture, and composting amendment that inhibits ammonia development. Industrial uses span air filtration for toxin and odor removal, mining effluent treatment, oil and gas applications, nuclear remediation, and artificial turf infill. The product carries AAFCO compliance for feed ingredients and OMRI Listed certification for organic production. BRZ is fundamentally a single-product company whose clinoptilolite serves multiple verticals through versatile ion-exchange and adsorption properties.

Key Products

Naturally mined 85-95% pure clinoptilolite zeolite sold in bulk quantities across multiple mesh sizes, providing cation exchange capacity for water filtration, nutrient recovery, odor control, and environmental remediation applications

Cattleprime Flow Agent/Feed Additive

AAFCO-compliant clinoptilolite zeolite in -40 or -100 mesh sizes sold in bulk as a flow agent for animal feed, increasing pellet durability and reducing livestock odor through ammonium capture

Municipal Water Filtration Grade Zeolite

Particle-size-specific zeolite for municipal water treatment filtration media, removing ammonium, heavy metals, and other contaminants through cation exchange

Environmental Remediation Zeolite

High-purity zeolite for groundwater remediation, removing heavy metals, light metals, sodium, and radioactive isotopes through ion exchange and adsorption

Swimming Pool Filtration Zeolite

Zeolite media for swimming pool and pond filtration systems, providing superior water clarity through ammonia and contaminant removal

Composting and Odor Control Zeolite

Zeolite amendment for composting and anaerobic digestion that captures ammonium ions, inhibiting odor development while retaining nitrogen value
