Beacon H2O
About
Beacon Water Technologies (Beacon H2O), operating out of Charleston, South Carolina since 2008, designs and manufactures the GDisk pile cloth disk filtration system for water and wastewater treatment. The GDisk employs fully-submerged vertical disks with an outside-in flow path and DuraPile proprietary pile cloth media available in three nominal filtration ratings matched to influent and effluent requirements. The system operates statically—consuming power only during backwash—thanks to a patented GDisk backwash manifold and optional tank bottom sludge collector. Five model sizes cover a range of capacities: the GDisk Giant (9.8 ft / 3.0 m diameter, 18-disk configuration), Standard (7.2 ft / 2.2 m), Compact (5.9 ft / 1.8 m), Mini (3.9 ft / 1.2 m), and XS (3.0 ft / 0.9 m). Each model is offered in concrete basin or stainless-steel tank configurations. The GDisk system holds California Title 22 approval for water reclamation. Primary applications include tertiary wastewater treatment, phosphorus removal, water reuse, wet weather treatment, industrial water treatment, and potable water treatment. Beacon also sells replacement DuraPile cloth media as a standalone product line for existing installations. Installations span globally, including sites in Vietnam, Iraq, and South Korea.
