Baur Folien GmbH is a family-owned membrane and foil technology company based in Wolfertschwenden, Unterallgaeu, Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1991 as Baur Folien GbR by Josef and Peter Baur, the company restructured as a GmbH in 2000 and has grown into one of the leading manufacturers of gas storage systems for the biogas industry, with over 10,000 projects completed worldwide. Their core product line centers on double membrane gas holders for biogas plants, offered in customizable designs that can be installed on concrete foundations, ground basins, prefabricated tanks, or steel tanks. Baur Folien also manufactures ground-level double membrane storage systems utilizing high-frequency hot wedge and hot air welding processes, alongside unpressurized foil gas holders designed for indoor installation. For smaller tank diameters, the company provides custom-sized EPDM gas membranes. Beyond gas storage, their portfolio extends to emission protection covers for slurry and earth basins, single-layer emission covers, multi-year silage films, mobile foil shelters, roller shutters and sliding curtains, fixed cladding with side ventilation, and water reservoirs and ponds. All products are manufactured in-house at their Wolfertschwenden facility, with a dedicated service subsidiary (Baur Folien Service GmbH, established 2011) and a new production site in India opened in 2024. Installation teams operate globally, and the company supplies accessories and spare parts for third-party gas storage systems as well.
