Barthauer Software GmbH
About
Barthauer Software GmbH, founded in 1991 and headquartered in Braunschweig, Germany, develops and markets BaSYS — a modular, scalable network information system (Netzinformationssystem) for managing underground and above-ground utility infrastructure including water, wastewater, gas, electricity, district heating, and telecommunications networks. Part of the BARTHAUER GROUP, the company serves over 1,000 customers with additional offices in Hannover, Munich, Würzburg, and a subsidiary in Sousse, Tunisia. BaSYS centralizes all infrastructure data in a unified database structure derived from real-world network models, supporting the entire lifecycle of network management: from network planning and data capture, through technical review and plausibility checking, to dynamic network calculation, optimization, inspection, and rehabilitation planning. The platform offers desktop, web, and mobile applications in parallel. Key modules include BaSYS Wasser for water supply (featuring a new GML interface per WasserversorgungGML), BaSYS KanDATA for sewer data management, BaSYS STATUS for predictive asset management developed with Stein & Partner, and BaSYS MIKE integrating DHI's MIKE 1D hydrodynamic simulation engine. The BaSYS GAG module incorporates bluemetric's calculation tools for separate wastewater fee modeling. A recent innovation is BaSYS KI, which applies cloud-based AI to automate sewer inspection processing and defect classification. The company also provides BIM (Building Information Modeling) integration connecting design and operational phases, and the Barthauer WebKiosk application for interactive content access on iOS and Android. Barthauer operates a qualified partner network for sales and training across national and international markets.
