AxNano
About
AxNano is a North Carolina-based environmental technology company that designs and manufactures scalable PFAS destruction and capture equipment using Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO). The company has accumulated over 45,000 operational hours and secured $11.3 million in contracts with US government agencies including the US Air Force, National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, US Army, and NASA. AxNano's core technology platform, AxSure, uses SCWO at elevated temperatures and pressures to achieve 99.999% PFAS destruction in solid and liquid waste streams, producing no secondary waste requiring reprocessing or disposal. The complementary AxTract system is a trailer-mounted, sorption-based extraction platform that removes up to 99.99% of PFAS from surface water and stored waste liquids while reducing transported volume by 99.999%, achieving cost reductions up to 83%. AxTract comes in three configurations: skid-mounted (10,000-gallon throughput), containerized (up to 250,000 gallons requiring external power), and full-scale trailer-mounted with an integrated generator (up to 250,000 gallons, self-powered). The Automated Feed System (AFS) grinds and mixes solid and liquid waste into a continuous stream for downstream destruction. Together, these three platforms form what AxNano describes as the industry's only closed-loop PFAS solution for on-site testing, extraction, conditioning, and destruction. AxSure and AFS are available via lease or Hardware-as-a-Service; AxTract offers the same options plus direct purchase.
