Augusta Fiberglass
About
Augusta Fiberglass Coatings, Inc. (AFC), headquartered in Blackville, South Carolina since 1974, is an ASME RTP-1 certified custom fabricator of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) tanks, process vessels, and industrial equipment serving the chemical, wastewater, pulp and paper, power generation, mining, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage industries. Operating on a 300-plus acre campus with over 300,000 square feet of manufacturing space — supplemented by B&D Plastics in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and a production facility in Angleton, Texas — Augusta converts millions of pounds of resin and fiberglass fabric annually into corrosion-resistant products built to ASME RTP-1, ASTM D3299 (filament wound), ASTM D4097 (contact molded), and NBS 15-69 standards. The company's water and wastewater product line includes FRP chemical storage and treatment tanks, clarifiers, neutralization vessels, and waste containment systems. For air quality, Augusta manufactures FRP scrubbers for odor control and emission treatment at wastewater facilities, plus FRP pipe, duct, exhaust hoods, stacks, and stack liners for corrosive process systems. Dual laminate vessels combine a thermoplastic inner liner bonded to structural FRP laminate for aggressive chemical service. Augusta's engineering staff includes degreed and licensed professional engineers performing structural analysis and finite element analysis for custom geometries and load cases. Field service crews operate 24/7 with jet aircraft on standby for emergency repair, on-site fabrication of oversized components, and quality assurance documentation, using DION 9300 FR flame-retardant resin formulations among other high-performance materials.
