About

Since 1982, Arlat Technology — a division of Price-Schonstrom Inc. based in Walkerton, Ontario — has supplied headworks and preliminary treatment equipment to over 400 water and wastewater installations across North America, Latin America, China, and Eastern Europe. All Arlat equipment is manufactured in North America with standard stainless steel construction. The TS Filter Screen paired with the SDP Spiral Dewatering Press serves as the primary influent cleaning package, handling slot widths from 2mm to 16mm for municipal sewage, paper mill waste, and raw water intake. For combined sewer applications handling heavy debris during wet weather, the FC, RP, and MR coarse bar screens cover openings from 6mm to 100mm. The compact SCS Spiral Channel Screen addresses low-flow installations and anchors Arlat's automated septage receiving station, which integrates screening, compaction, dewatering, flow monitoring, and billing in a single package. Downstream of screening, the VGC Vortex Grit Removal unit and GC Grit Classifier handle abrasive grit separation and dewatering. For clarification, the CF Chain and Flight System provides longitudinal and cross-collection for rectangular settling tanks with surface skimming capability. A design philosophy of eliminating chains, sprockets, and greased bearings from the wastewater stream runs across all products, with NEMA 4X and NEMA 7 control panels standard.

Key Products

TS Filter Screen

Mechanically cleaned fine screen with 2-16mm slot widths that removes debris from municipal sewage, paper mill waste, food processing waste, and raw water intake at treatment plants and power stations.

SCS Spiral Channel Screen

Fine screen for low-flow and small channel applications, also the core component of Arlat's septage receiving station with fully automated vertical mounting for unattended operation.

FC Screen

Coarse bar screen with 6-100mm slot widths designed for combined sewers handling heavy objects during wet weather events.

RP Screen

Coarse bar screen for large-volume sewage pumping stations and combined sewer applications.

MR Screen

Coarse bar screen for combined sewer and heavy-debris applications, sharing the rugged design of FC and RP screens.

PS Screen

Fine screening product for preliminary treatment applications.

SDP Spiral Dewatering Press

Compacts and dewaters screenings to reduce volume and water content using a shaftless spiral design with no doors, springs, or fingers requiring adjustment.

SC Shaftless Screw Conveyor

Enclosed U-trough conveyor for transporting screenings to landfill or incineration, available in horizontal, inclined, and vertical configurations with customizable spiral diameter and pitch.

VGC Vortex Grit Removal

Removes abrasive grit and sand from influent at the headworks using vortex flow separation.

GC Grit Classifier

Dewaters and disposes removed grit from the grit removal process.

CF Chain and Flight System

Longitudinal or cross-collector mechanism for rectangular settling and clarifier tanks, including skimming troughs for surface scum removal, also applicable to DAF tanks.

Septage Receiving Station

Complete receiving system built around the SCS screen providing fine screening, compaction, dewatering, flow monitoring, controlled access, and automated billing for septage haulers.

Control Panels

NEMA 4X weatherproof or NEMA 7 explosion-proof electrical control panels for all Arlat equipment.
