Flettner—a descendant of prolific inventor Anton Flettner—to commercialize galvanic limescale conversion technology for residential and industrial water treatment. The company's signature product, the AQUABION limescale converter, uses a sacrificial zinc anode housed inside a brass sheath to generate a natural galvanic voltage of 0.4–1.0 volts, releasing zinc ions that bond with calcium carbonate to form non-adhesive crystals that remain suspended in the water rather than depositing on pipe walls.
