About

Aqua-Pipe is a structural cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner manufactured by Sanexen Environmental Services Inc. of Varennes, Quebec, Canada, designed specifically for rehabilitating aging potable water distribution mains without excavation. Developed in the late 1990s and commercially deployed since 2000, Aqua-Pipe is classified as a Class IV fully structural liner that rehabilitates pipes from 100mm to 630mm in diameter using a pulled-in-place method cured with circulating hot water. The liner employs a proprietary 100 percent solids epoxy resin system containing no VOCs or styrene, bonds directly to the host pipe to eliminate end seals, and can negotiate bends up to 90 degrees. Certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61 for potable water contact, Aqua-Pipe operates at pressures up to 20 bar with burst pressures exceeding 50 bar and maintains a Hazen-Williams coefficient above 120. Over 1,000 kilometers of Aqua-Pipe have been installed across more than 500 municipalities in North America and Australasia, with over 60,000 service connections reinstated robotically from inside the pipe. Sanexen invests five percent of annual earnings in research and development through partnerships at the National Research Council of Canada and Louisiana Tech University. The product is distributed and installed through licensed partners including SAK Construction and Aquatech Solutions.
