AMS Inc
About
AMS, Inc. — originally Art's Machine Shop — is a fourth-generation family-owned manufacturer based in American Falls, Idaho, producing environmental and geotechnical sampling equipment since 1942. The company operates two core divisions: hand sampling tools and mechanized drilling systems. The hand sampling catalog includes soil probes, soil augers, soil core samplers, sludge and sediment samplers, bottom sampling dredges, gas vapor probe kits, bailers, peristaltic pumps, and product interface and water level meters. Geotechnical testing tools round out the manual lineup, including infiltration rings, pocket penetrometers, and dynamic cone penetrometers. Since 1994, AMS has manufactured the PowerProbe line of direct push drill rigs, available in three series: the 9100 (compact footprint for confined spaces, skid-steer or air-lift mountable with remote control), the 9400 (mid-sized with load-sensed hydraulics, truck or track mounted), and the 9500 (high-powered for deep penetration and extreme force, with smaller carrier options for limited-access sites). All PowerProbes support direct push tooling through sands, gravels, clays, tills, and fill materials to depths beyond 100 feet, plus hollow stem augering for telescopic drilling. AMS products are handcrafted in the USA and distributed through roughly 100 dealers serving agricultural, geotechnical, environmental, and groundwater markets worldwide.
